Dewa United FC coach Jan Olde Riekerink said his team deserved a 1-1 draw against Persib in the 2025 President's Cup at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency.
Riekerink expressed satisfaction with the results achieved by Dewa United, especially after seeing his team struggle to play with 10 players since the first half.
"We deserved to get 1-1. I think the second half was a bit boring. We chose to be a bit more defensive, but I think in the first half, we created a lot of chances with the way we played," said Riekerink in Bandung, Tuesday.
Dewa United lost defender Cassio Scheid to a red card in the 20th minute, but the man deficit did not prevent them from equalising through Egy Maulana Vikri's penalty in the final minutes, having fallen behind to William Marcilio's goal.
"For me as a coach, I am very proud. And we still have to play with 10 men, when we play with 10 we have to make a decision to consolidate," said Riekerink.
