Indonesian women's tennis player Janice Tjen advanced in the ITF World Tennis Tour W100 Evansville, USA, while Priska Nugroho had to run aground in the ITF W35 Horb, Germany.

Competing in the first round of the ITF W100 Evansville, Wednesday (23/7) local time or Thursday WIB, Janice managed to beat the qualifying tennis player from the United States, Kallista Liu, in straight sets 7-6(7), 6-1 in their first head to head , according to the ITF.

Next in the second round, Janice, who is seeded eighth, will meet Canadian tennis player Carol Zhao who defeated American wild card player Sara Daavettila 7-5, 6-3.

Janice will also compete in the doubles event at the ITF W100 Evansville, partnering with American Makenna Jones. Janice and Jones will face American pair Catherine Harrison and Christina Rosca in their opening match.

The ITF W100 Evansville event will be Janice's preparation for the US Open. The 23-year-old also plans to compete in the W75 Lexington and W100 Landisville before competing in the final Grand Slam of the year, which will take place in late August.
