The Ministry of Communication and Digital , through the Directorate of Electronic Transactions and Certification Supervision, emphasized the importance of mitigation and backup systems in dealing with the threat of cybercrime.
"Mitigation and backup are no longer optional, but imperative in order to face the increasingly complex and sophisticated threat of cybercrime," said Director of Certification and Electronic Transaction Supervision Teguh Arifiyadi at a forum on digital security in Jakarta on Thursday.
Teguh said that almost everyone in Indonesia has experienced or at least been the target of digital fraud attempts, ranging from fake SMS to social engineering attacks.
According to him, more than 90 percent of cyber attacks originate from social manipulation, which deceives users through digital identity disguise techniques.
