FC Barcelona officially announced the contract extension of their young star, Lamine Yamal, until June 30, 2031.
"Teenager Lamine Yamal has signed a new contract until 2031," Barcelona announced on the club's official website on Wednesday.
The contract signing took place at the club's offices, attended by President Joan Laporta, Vice President Rafa Yusta, Sporting Director Deco, and Yamal's family.
This agreement is a strategic move by the club to secure the future of one of world football's greatest talents.
Alongside the contract extension, Barcelona also announced that Lamine Yamal will wear the iconic number 10 shirt starting in the 2025/26 season.
This number, previously worn by legends such as Diego Maradona, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi, has become a huge symbol in the club's history.
The number 10 was previously worn by Ansu Fati, who is currently on loan at AS Monaco, paving the way for Yamal to inherit the sacred number.
