McLaren driver Lando Norris successfully secured pole position for the 2025 Formula 1 Belgian GP after recording the fastest time in the qualifying session at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit.the Formula 1 page, right behind Norris or in second position was his teammate, Oscar Piastri and Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc in third place.
Norris started the first qualifying session (Q1) by being at the forefront with a time of one minute 41.010 seconds.
Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton was surprisingly eliminated in this session after his final time was deleted for violating track limits.Besides Hamilton, four other drivers who were eliminated in Q1 were Franco Colapinto (Alpine), Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), and the Aston Martin duo of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.
In Q2, Oscar Piastri became the leader with the fastest time of one minute 40.626 seconds, 0.089 seconds ahead of Norris in second.
Eliminated in this session were Carlos Sainz Jr.Nico Hulkenberg , Pierre Gasly , and Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon from Haas.
In the Q3 session, Norris was again the fastest with a time of one minute 40.562 seconds, ahead of Piastri who was 0.085 seconds slower.
Third place was taken by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) with a time of one minute 40.900 seconds.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who won the sprint race, will start the race from grid four after losing 0.003 seconds behind Leclerc.
Alexander Albon (Williams) surprisingly finished fifth with a time of 1 minute 41.201 seconds, followed by George Russell (Mercedes) with a time of 1 minute 41.260 seconds.
Then there is Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) in seventh place with a time of 1 minute 41.284 seconds, followed by the Racing Bulls duo, Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson.
Gabriel Bortoleto from Sauber completes the top 10.
