Indonesian representative RRQ Hoshi successfully advanced to the playoff round after winning the upper bracket match of the Group Stage Mid Season Cup (MSC) which is part of the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Against Aurora Gaming, RRQ Hoshi was initially knocked down in the first game. However, the team, featuring Toy, Dyren, Rinz, Idok, and Sutsujin, rallied to defeat the Turkish team 2-1.
"In the first game, we were still trying to counter their hero power, Selena. We tried, but we couldn't find the answer, so that was the difficulty," said RRQ Hoshi player and team captain Hajirin "Rinz" Arafat MJ after the match, as broadcast on the MPL Indonesia channel.
Aurora Gaming dominated the first game from the start. They continuously made moves, overwhelming RRQ Hoshi, and they were unable to move until the end.
Rinz et al tried to bring the game to the late game , but with a large gold difference , RRQ Hoshi's defense collapsed in the 14th minute.
Aurora Gaming recorded a 20-8 elimination score, with three turtles and two lords making for a perfect first game victory.
