Food systems are on the verge of collapse.
On the humanitarian front, the World Food Programme said on Monday that all food systems in the Gaza Strip are "on the verge of collapse," with most families in the territory barely eating one meal a day due to the tightened Israeli blockade imposed on the territory for several months.
In a tweet on its X account, the UN program stated that "the ceasefire in Gaza creates the conditions necessary for the delivery of safe and large-scale humanitarian assistance." It added, "Most families in the Gaza Strip barely eat one meal a day."
He continued: "The fear of famine and the urgent need for food remain high in Gaza."
Since March 2, Israel has closed the Gaza Strip's crossings to humanitarian aid, pushing approximately 2.4 million Palestinians into a state of famine.
The programme noted that "food security in Gaza and all food systems are on the verge of collapse."
He stated, "One Gaza family told us that the extreme heat and lack of food caused some people to lose consciousness."
He pointed out that many people risk their lives to obtain one kilogram of flour.
Far from the oversight of the United Nations and international organizations, Tel Aviv and Washington began implementing a plan on May 27 to distribute limited aid through the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," forcing starving Palestinians to choose between death by starvation or being shot by the Israeli occupation army.

On Friday, Israeli soldiers revealed that they were deliberately, on instructions from their commanders, shooting at unarmed Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid near distribution sites in the Gaza Strip, resulting in deaths and injuries, according to the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz.
