Microsoft Edge lets users browse with AI assistance

As demand for artificial intelligence (AI)-powered browsers increases , Microsoft Edge introduces a Copilot Mode feature to enable users to browse the web with AI assistance.the idea is to make AI an assistant that can understand what users are looking for, predict what they want to do, and then take action based on user habits.

Microsoft still considers Copilot Mode an experimental feature. It's enabled by default during testing and is currently free for all Mac or PC users with access to Copilot.

Once enabled, Edge users will be presented with a new tab page where they can search, chat, and browse the web with the help of Copilot.

When visiting certain web pages, users can also use Copilot's assistance.

For example, Microsoft demonstrated how someone could ask the AI companion if the recipe they were viewing could be made vegan and Copilot would suggest a substitute.

Users can also ask AI to display only the recipe, skipping over other information such as "life stories" that are sometimes included in recipes in digital spaces.
