Indonesian national team and Oxford United striker Ole Romeny successfully underwent surgery on his right foot in the Netherlands.
"The surgery went well. Back soon. Rejoice (Alegria)," Ole wrote in his Instagram story.
The news that Ole would undergo surgery was conveyed by PSSI General Chairman Erick Thohir when met after attending the Law of the Game introduction event in Jakarta, Wednesday (16/7).
Ole suffered the injury while playing for Oxford in the 2025 President's Cup match against Arema on July 10. At that time, he was tackled hard by Arema player Paulinho Moccelin.
It's not yet known how long Ole will be out for recovery. However, it's certain he will miss the Indonesian national team's two FIFA Match Day matches in September, when the Garuda team faces Kuwait and Lebanon.
The matches against Kuwait and Lebanon will also serve as test matches against Middle Eastern teams. In the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying Asian zone, the Indonesian national team will face teams from that region.
Following the draw, Indonesia was placed in Group B of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifying group, alongside Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The matches will be played from October 8 to 14.
