Indonesian U-23 national team coach Gerald Vanenburg admitted he was not concerned about the number of supporters who would attend the second match of Group A of the 2025 ASEAN U-23 Championship against the Philippines at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK).
Vanenburg made this statement after only around 2,000 spectators attended the first match against Brunei Darussalam at the GBK Stadium on Tuesday, despite the stadium's capacity of nearly 80,000.
"Of course, it would be great to have the fans there. However, without them, we still have to play and try to win," Vanenburg said when met by media crews during a Garuda Muda training session at Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium in Jakarta on Thursday.
Previously, the lack of spectators at the match against Brunei also received attention from PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir.
