The Indonesian Esports Executive Board stated that the 2025 Esports World Cup will be a trial event or a measured tryout for several teams that are members of the Indonesian national esports team.
This was conveyed by the Head of International Relations of PB ESI, Eddy Lim, who said that the National Team Agency (BTN), which oversees the national training camp (pelatnas), will accompany and monitor the athletes competing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
"Even though this EWC is an inter-club competition, the national training center is sending people there. So, we want to see how they respond when they face pressure. That will be homework for us at the national training center," Eddy told.
"We consider it a tryout. And, the tryout is official, because it's an official match, so if you win, you win, and if you lose, you lose. While tryouts are just like training, this is serious, so the pressure is definitely heavier. So, this is a good tryout ."
