PB PBI encourages bowling to be included as an extracurricular activity in high schools

The Indonesian Bowling Association is pushing for bowling to be included as an extracurricular activity in Senior High Schools or equivalent.

"Bowling is a recreational sport, but it can be an achievement. Indeed, we have also suggested to the regions to make it a sport from high school, there are extracurricular activities, so that bowling can also be included," said the General Chairperson of PB PBI Agus Muhammad Bahron.

In addition to implementing strategies to include bowling in extracurricular activities, PB PBI also coordinates with a number of bowling centers to provide special prices to bowling athletes.

"We have also coordinated with the bowling center, so that a special rate is given to athletes. Many regions have also done that," said Agus Muhammad Bahron.

PB PBI is now holding the 2025 Junior Bowling National Championship which will take place at the Jaya Ancol Bowling Center Jakarta, Jakarta, 1-5 July.

This tournament is expected to be a forum for developing junior athletes as well as to find potential athlete talents to be prepared for the regeneration process of the Indonesian national bowling team.

The championship will feature a total of six age and gender categories. The categories are U-25 Boys, U-25 Girls, U-21 Boys, U-21 Girls, U-15 Boys, and U-15 Girls.
