Deputy for Communication Material and Information at the Presidential Communication Office Muhammad Isra Ramli said the agricultural sector's growth of 10.52 percent in the first quarter of 2025 was the highest achievement in the last 53 years.
In the Berani Bicara discussion entitled "Direction of President Prabowo's Development Policy", at the Gatotkaca Mansion, Jakarta, Wednesday, Isra Ramli emphasized that farmers have never been valued in such a way.
"During Mr. Prabowo's time, they were happy. They could produce, and the price of their products was also guaranteed by the state," Isra also said.
According to Isra, President Prabowo has always identified struggle with raising dignity.
"One of those whose dignity has been neglected for decades is farmers. They are victims from upstream to downstream of their productive activities. Today, farmers are happy," he also said.
Isra explained that the long-term direction of President Prabowo's policy is Golden Indonesia 2045. But to get there, there are many stages that must be carried out.
For example, he also said, the short-term target until 2029-2030 is 8 percent economic growth and 0 percent extreme poverty.
"So in this first year we will restore our ability to meet food needs. So food self-sufficiency is the focus. Thank God, our food self-sufficiency has been achieved in less than a year," he said.
After the agricultural sector grows, said Isra, the government will focus on energy sovereignty.
