Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed Al-Ansari explained during a press conference that the proposed framework agreement on Gaza will be the basis for indirect talks between the two sides.
Al-Ansari indicated that meetings are continuing in Doha, denying any stalemate in the talks. He also noted the difficulty of setting a timeframe for negotiations, whether related to Gaza or any other issues.
He added that meetings are being held with each party to the conflict separately, in an effort to reach a framework agreement that would pave the way for broader understandings.
Israel continues its war on Gaza, while indirect negotiations are underway in Qatar between Tel Aviv and Hamas, in an attempt to reach a prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war of extermination in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The genocide, backed by the United States, left more than 197,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
