PSM Makassar goalkeeper Reza Arya welcomed the holding of this year's President's Cup, but he felt that Indonesia should also have a cup competition like the Indonesian Cup which was last held in 2018/2019.
As a footballer, Reza feels that having a cup competition is very important to increase the playing time of local players, as well as young players who do not get enough playing time in the Indonesian League 1.
"Yes, there should be a pre-season, there should be a cup (like the Indonesian Cup). So local players who rarely play in League 1 can get playing minutes in the cup. Because here we have eight foreign players, so of course local players don't get enough playing minutes. So I think there should be a cup, like the Indonesian Cup," said Reza when met by media crews at the Indonesian All Star League training session at the STIK (Police Science College) Stadium.
PSM became the last champion of the Indonesian Cup after they defeated Persija Jakarta with an aggregate of 2-1. At that time, Reza was included in the Juku Eja squad, but he did not play a single game that season.
