The Russian badminton team arrived in Indonesia on Tuesday to undergo a joint training camp with national athletes at the PBSI National Training Center, Cipayung for two weeks from July 8-21.
Based on information from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), the group of 19 people consisted of team managers, coaches, and male and female athletes. They came in two waves, with most of them landing. Two other athletes, Alina Davletova arrived on Tuesday afternoon and Evgeniya Kosetskaya is scheduled .
Some of the names that joined the group included manager Pavel Sorokin, coaches Rodion Kargaev and Viktor Maliutin, as well as athletes such as Ivan Apostoliuk, Nikita Zibrov, Artur Pechenkin, Vladislav Dobichkin, Alena Lakovleva, Galina Lisochkina, and Maria Golubeva.
This joint national training is part of the follow-up to bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Russia in the field of sports, which has been established through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo and the Russian Federation Minister of Sports Michael Degtyarev on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Russia, on June 19.
