Race Director of the Maybank Cycling Series Il Festino 2025, Pratomo Setyadi, said that the committee will invite a number of national athletes to take part in the cycling championship, which will be held in Yogyakarta, on September 28.
He explained that, in addition to inviting the general public and the cycling community, the committee also plans to involve national athletes to enliven the event and motivate other participants to perform optimally during the race.
"Later, if we have received confirmation, we will announce who has been invited and has agreed to take part in the competition," said Pratomo in Jakarta, Tuesday.
He explained that professional teams were also invited to take part in the competition, as well as participate in campaigning for a healthy lifestyle through cycling in Indonesia.
He added that the committee is currently focusing on making preparations. One of them is making a route that will be passed by the participants, who are targeted to number 800 people.
"We are currently processing permits from many parties, including the police, as well as coordinating with the Executive Board of the Indonesian Cycling Sport Association (PB ISSI), to help supervise the implementation of the tournament," he said.
Maybank Cycling Series Il Festino 2025 is the second event, organized by Maybank Indonesia in collaboration with Il Festino.
Last year, the event was attended by 600 participants and was a success.
This activity is a form of commitment from the banking company to develop bicycle racing sports in Indonesia, through organizing international tournaments.
