Semen Padang FC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Win Bernadino confirmed that management will immediately settle compensation payments for the club's four former foreign players so that the club can register players with PT LIB to compete in the 2025-2026 season.
"Regarding the compensation for the four players that we haven't yet settled, God willing, we will pay them all in July," said Semen Padang FC CEO Win Bernadino in Padang.
Semen Padang FC has been sanctioned by FIFA, requiring it to pay compensation to four foreign players whose contracts were terminated by the club's management. The four players are Kenneth Ikechukwu Ngwoke, Bruno Dybal, Jan Carlos Vargas, and Ryohei Michibuchi.
If the compensation for the four players remains unpaid, Semen Padang FC will certainly not be able to register players for the BRI Super League competition. Therefore, the club's management is working to settle its obligations before the new season begins.
"Yes, we are committed to completing this (compensation) so that we can register players," he said.
