The South Kalimantan contingent has so far secured 55 gold medals at the 8th West Nusa Tenggara National Community Sports Festival (Fornas) 2025, which has been underway since.
The Secretary of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) of South Kalimantan, Galoeh Nisa Basoeni in Banjarmasin, admitted that the temporary achievement instilled confidence that their contingent could achieve the target of finishing in the top three at the VIII National Sports Week.
"Optimism is key. If I'm not optimistic, how can I inspire my contingent?" Galoeh said in Banjarmasin on Wednesday.
Moreover, in addition to 55 gold medals, the South Kalimantan contingent also won 40 silver and 35 bronze medals, completing the temporary collection of 130 medals at the VIII National Games.
The ranks of the Main Sports Organization (Inorga) of the Traditional Sports and Cultural Creation (OTKP) commission contributed the most gold medals for the South Kalimantan contingent at the VII Fornas with 32 gold medals, led by the Indonesian Balogo Sports Association (GOBI) which won 11 gold medals.
