WBC Asia says Hisar Mawan's achievements strengthen Indonesia's standing

The World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia stated that Indonesian boxer Hisar Mawan's achievement in winning the WBC Asia Silver bantamweight (53.5 kg) title further strengthens Indonesia's presence in the continent's boxing scene.

"This victory marks a significant milestone in Mawan's career and highlights Indonesia's growing presence on the Asian stage," WBC Asia reported on its official website, as monitored in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Hisar scored a sensational knockout (KO) over Thai boxer Chonlathee Srirat at the Ring Tarkam 3 event in Ponorogo, East Java.

In the fight, which was prepared for 10 rounds, Hisar showed his precision punching ability and relentless pressure on Srirat.

After the opening three rounds, the West Kalimantan boxer found his momentum and landed the decisive blow to secure a KO victory in the fourth round.

The result saw Hisar emerge as the new WBC Asia Silver bantamweight champion.
