South Kalimantan KPU determines continuing voters at 3,061,937 people

The South Kalimantan General Election Commission has determined that there are 3,061,937 continuous voters based on an open plenary meeting for the recapitulation of continuous voter data updates in the first semester of 2025 at the South Kalimantan provincial level.

"This number has increased by more than 20 thousand people compared to the 2024 Pilkada DPT, which is 3,041,499 people," said South Kalimantan KPU Chairman Andi Tenri Sompa in Banjarmasin, Tuesday.

The increase in the number of voters, said Tenri, was due to population growth, including first-time voters aged 17 years.

Then there is also the factor of voters moving their domicile from outside South Kalimantan, including retired TNI-Polri.

Tenri explained that PDPB is an important instrument in maintaining the integrity of voter data.

PDPB is carried out periodically to ensure that voter data is always updated, accurate and in accordance with current conditions.

"So it is synchronized with national population data, including data from abroad," he explained.

Meanwhile, Bawaslu South Kalimantan member Thessa Aji Budiono appreciated the South Kalimantan KPU and the city and district in submitting the PDPB for semester 1 this year.

"The data displayed is in accordance with the manual recapitulation data obtained by Bawaslu in stages," he said.
