The Corruption Eradication Commission explained that former Chairman of the East Java Provincial DPRD, Kusnadi, was questioned at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, because coercive measures were to be taken in the form of detention.
"So, the summons at that time was that the person concerned (Kusnadi, ed.) was already a suspect, and that coercive measures would even be taken," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto in his statement.
Setyo made the statement in response to public questions regarding the different locations of Kusnadi and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa's questioning when summoned on July 10, 2025.
At that time, Kusnadi was scheduled to be at the KPK's Red and White Building, while Khofifah was at the East Java Regional Police.
Setyo further explained that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) did not carry out coercive measures against Kusnadi.
"Because the medical examination results require medical records that must be completed first, coercive measures will not be taken," he explained.
Meanwhile, he said there was no discrimination in the examination of witnesses or related parties carried out by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) because Kusnadi was also questioned in Surabaya, East Java.
"So, there's actually no such thing as discrimination. On June 24, 2024, the suspect was questioned as a witness at the BPKP Representative Office in Surabaya, East Java," he said.
Therefore, he emphasized that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) did not give Khofifah special treatment by examining her in East Java, while Kusnadi.
