Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives will re-invite the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation and advocacy organizations to discuss the Criminal Procedure Code Bill.
"Starting Monday, July 21, 2025, Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives will re-invite YLBHI as a community element that requested the suspension of discussions on the Criminal Procedure Code Bill, and the advocacy organization that proposed continuing discussions on the Criminal Procedure Code Bill," said Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Habiburokhman, in his statement in Jakarta, Sunday.
Meanwhile, he invited other elements of society to convey their aspirations by submitting a request for a public hearing with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives so that it can be accommodated in the Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 8 of 1981 concerning Criminal Procedure Code .
"Rather than just holding demonstrations, it would be better if they joined in so their aspirations could be more easily absorbed by all factions," he said.
He explained that this step was taken by Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives as representatives of the people who must protect and serve all elements of the people who wish to convey their aspirations.
"Their aspirations must be heard, considered, and accommodated as much as possible," he said.
