The occupation army recommends a ceasefire in Gaza during the current week.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation quoted the anonymous source as saying that the army hopes to complete the agreement within the current week, noting that there is a "great desire" among both the military and political establishments in Israel to reach an understanding.

According to the commission, the occupation army affirmed its willingness to demonstrate flexibility, in accordance with the directives of the political leadership, in order to facilitate reaching an agreement.

This comes as Israel continues its military operations in the Gaza Strip, alongside the ongoing blockade and the lack of adequate humanitarian aid, further exacerbating the humanitarian situation.

In a significant development on the ground, the Israeli occupation army issued evacuation warnings to residents of the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip on Sunday morning, in preparation for an anticipated ground operation. This move represents the first since the start of the war, and reflects a trend toward further escalation in military operations.

This coincides with the ongoing indirect negotiations in the Qatari capital, Doha, between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Egypt and Qatar, and supported by the United States, with the aim of reaching an agreement that includes a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In this context, a Palestinian source reported that Hamas received new maps from the mediators showing the areas of Israeli deployment and control in the Gaza Strip, and is currently studying them as part of the negotiations.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with US support, has been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The genocide left more than 199,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and famine claimed the lives of many, including children, as well as widespread destruction.
