The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported in a brief statement that "the child Ibrahim Imad Ahmed Mahmoud Hamran (14 years old) was martyred by the occupation forces' bullets in the town of Araba, near the city of Jenin (the center of the governorate of the same name)."
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews had received the body of the child Hamran, without mentioning from whom it had received it.
According to witnesses, the Israeli occupation forces had earlier fired live bullets at the child Hamran, before arresting him while he was wounded.
For its part, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported that "occupation forces stationed at the western entrance to the town of Araba fired live bullets directly at the child Hamran, leading to his death."
She added that Hamran is "the second child killed by the occupation forces in villages south of Jenin in the past 24 hours, as yesterday (Tuesday) the child Ibrahim Nasr was martyred after being shot in the chest by the occupation forces in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin."
She added, "With the martyrdom of child Hamran, the number of martyrs in Jenin Governorate since the beginning of the aggression on Jenin and its camp on January 21 has risen to 44."
In a separate statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced that a 16-year-old boy was injured by a live bullet in the thigh during clashes with the Israeli army in the Al-Ain refugee camp, west of Nablus, in the northern West Bank. The society noted that attempts were made to "revive the injured person's heart and lungs" while he was being transported to the hospital.
While the WAFA news agency reported a second injury in the camp, "from shrapnel from live bullets in the foot," the injured person was transferred to the hospital. It added: "The occupation forces have continued their raids on the Ein al-Ain camp and its surroundings since this afternoon, which led to the outbreak of clashes with citizens, during which the occupation soldiers fired bullets, sound bombs, and toxic tear gas."
The agency reported that "a number of citizens suffered from suffocation from toxic tear gas, this evening, during the Israeli occupation forces' continued raid on the city of Nablus." It added that "the occupation forces stormed the areas of Martyrs' Roundabout, Faisal Street and Rafidia and fired sound bombs and toxic tear gas, which led to a number of citizens suffering from suffocation."
On Wednesday morning, eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli occupation army deployed military reinforcements to the Ma'ajin neighborhood, west of Nablus.
Since dawn on Wednesday, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out operations in neighborhoods of Nablus.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,003 Palestinians and the injury of approximately 7,000 others, according to Palestinian data.
This coincides with a genocidal war waged by Israel in Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has left more than 202,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and a famine that has claimed the lives of many.
