X denies French authorities access to its recommendation algorithm

Elon Musk's social media platform X has firmly refused French authorities access to its recommendation algorithms and real-time data regarding its ongoing legal case.

The legal case in question concerns the alleged manipulation of algorithms for the purpose of foreign interference, a case which was handled by the Paris Prosecutor's Office on Friday (11/7).

The Phone Arena website on Tuesday (22/7) local time reported a tweet from the official Global Government Affairs X account @GlobalAffairs stating that the investigation into the algorithm belonging to the US company by French authorities was an investigation suspected of being politically motivated.

X also argued that the move was an attempt by the French authorities to silence the right to freedom of expression.
