The official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation quoted unnamed informed sources as saying that the disagreements relate to the possibility of achieving progress at the current stage, without delving into the details of the core of the division.

This comes amid reports that a Hamas delegation has arrived in Cairo to discuss a new Egyptian initiative, which includes a "comprehensive deal" involving the release of 50 Hamas prisoners in exchange for disarmament. Hamas has yet to officially comment on the initiative.

In contrast, the movement has previously announced its rejection of any proposals calling for the disarmament of the resistance or its withdrawal from Gaza, stressing that any arrangements regarding the future of the Strip must be based on Palestinian consensus.

This movement comes amid a ground escalation following the Israeli security cabinet's approval on Friday of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip. This plan will begin by displacing Gaza City's residents southward, then encircle the city and carry out extensive incursions. A second phase will then target refugee camps in the central Gaza Strip.

For its part, the official broadcasting authority expected that international mediators would increase pressure on both sides in the coming days to resume negotiations.

Hamas has repeatedly declared its willingness to release Israeli prisoners "in one batch" in exchange for an end to the war of extermination, the withdrawal of the occupation army from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners. However, Netanyahu, who is wanted by international justice, has evaded the offer by proposing new conditions, including the disarmament of Palestinian factions.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The Israeli genocide left 61,499 Palestinians dead, 153,575 injured, and more than 9,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
