Mexico City, February 3.- The infrastructure dedicated to the circulation and parking of vehicles at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) is practically ready to be used at the inauguration of the terminal, on March 21, but for the moment there is only one road already completed to reach this site , since there are others whose completion depends on the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) and the authorities of the State of Mexico.
This was explained by the military engineers in charge of AIFA, who pointed out that this detail does not imply a gap between the airport construction and the roads leading to it, but rather a "phased" implementation whose speed will increase according to airline activity and demand.
During a media tour of the airport's so-called "intermodal ground transportation terminal ," construction engineer Jesús Cantoral, head of the new airport's management committee, indicated that the available routes to reach the site for the inauguration on March 21 will be the Mexico-Pachuca free and toll roads.
While the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (Sedena) is almost finished with the construction of a "trunk axis" connecting various roads with the AIFA , the Mexico-Tonanitla freeway, which will connect the airport with the eastern part of the capital, is still pending completion, as is the Siervo de la Nación highway, which will do the same with the west.
