Agreement reached with Irrigation District to send water to coastal BC

Mexicali, December 27. An agreement ensuring water supply from January to September 2025 for the Baja California coastal area was signed between the State Water Commission (CEA), Irrigation District 014, the Water Bank, and the National Water Commission (Conagua).

Water Secretary Víctor Daniel Amador Barragán reported that the water supply for the municipalities of Tecate, Tijuana, Playas de Rosarito , and part of Ensenada has been secured in advance through a water delivery agreement.

He noted that this is the second time that the water supply has been secured through an agreement that, he said, is the result of efforts made with the Irrigation District and the Water Bank.

In this way, the permit holders provide the excess water , which is acquired by the state government and sent to the coastal area of the entity.
