The Bedouin Rights Defense Organization (Baidar), a non-governmental organization, said in a statement that "settlers, with the support of the occupation forces, have begun erecting dozens of mobile homes (caravans) on the lands of the village of Birin, east of Hebron, leading to the establishment of three new colonial outposts."
The organization explained that these outposts seized approximately 6,400 dunams (one dunam equals 1,000 square meters) of land belonging to the village of Birin, the town of Bani Na'im, and the city of Hebron.
The statement noted that "the area has been subjected to an escalating settlement campaign for two months, including the construction of new roads, the seizure of large areas of land, and the destruction of crops and wells, which poses a direct threat to the Palestinian presence in the area."
According to a report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission (governmental), settlers carried out 466 attacks in the West Bank during July, resulting in the deaths of four Palestinians and the forced displacement of two Bedouin communities comprising 50 families. The report also noted attempts to establish 15 new settlement outposts.
Storming Al-Aqsa Mosque
Meanwhile, hundreds of settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Monday under heavy security guard from Israeli occupation forces and police. Meanwhile, hundreds of settlers gathered at the Western Wall area to perform Talmudic prayers.
Sources reported that settlers stormed the holy mosque from the Mughrabi Gate in groups, carrying out provocative tours and performing Talmudic rituals. One settler managed to blow the shofar inside Al-Aqsa Mosque early this morning, according to local media.
In the same context, the Israeli occupation police tightened their security measures at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, preventing worshippers from entering during the raid, to ensure the settlers' safe passage into the mosque.
Separately, Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by municipal crews, raided the village of Issawiya in occupied Jerusalem. Israeli forces also demolished animal pens and agricultural shelters belonging to several Palestinian families in the village of Sur Baher, southeast of Jerusalem, according to the Wadi Hilweh Legal Information Center in the holy city.
