Racer Fermin Aldeguer is optimistic about the 2025 Hungarian MotoGP main race after finishing in the top five in the Sprint Race at the Hungaroring.
The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP rider, supported by Federal Oil, started the sprint from eighth and finished fifth. This result boosted his confidence ahead of Sunday's main race.
"We knew we had to improve our performance before the race. A top-five finish is certainly a good result, but we won't be complacent. Our target is to perform even better in the main race," Aldeguer said in an official statement.
His teammate, Alex Marquez, who finished eighth in the sprint, said the main race would present a bigger challenge.
"A mistake in qualifying meant my starting position wasn't ideal. But I have to be prepared for any eventuality, especially with the penalty," he said.
The Gresini Racing team is optimistic about competing in the main race with technical support and the Ducati Desmosedici GP24's continuously optimized performance.
In the 2025 MotoGP standings, Alex Marquez remains in second place with 278 points, 152 points behind leader Marc Marquez, while Aldeguer is in eighth place with 126 points.
