Tijuana, September 6.- Students from the Law School of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) in Otay, Tijuana, demonstrated against the reform of the Judicial Branch.
The demonstration took place in the halls of the faculty and then in the streets, with the aim of raising awareness about the implications of the reform. Mercedes Montes Trujillo, a law student, expressed concern that the reform could affect her career opportunities in the judiciary.
"We must fight against indifference; we must be open-minded and prepared to listen to all opinions without judgment," he said.
According to the protesters, they joined forces to raise awareness about the potential negative effects of the reform on the judicial system and democracy. The protest joins the various demonstrations that have taken place across the country against the reform.
He also stated that they expect a positive response from the university community, as they have not joined them in the marches held in the city.
"We hope that once they are informed, they will support us, because it is very clear that this reform, in its current form, does not benefit us."
