Tijuana, January 8. The Johnson Canyon area is identified as one of the areas with a high incidence of crime in Tijuana, announced the Secretary of Municipal Security and Citizen Protection of Tijuana, Fernando Sánchez González, when questioned about the attack on two officers that occurred there on Saturday.
"It is an area that we have considered to be of significant importance, hence the presence of all the corporations there," he explained.
He reported that on Monday morning, a person in possession of a firearm was arrested in Johnson Canyon , and on Saturday, during the operation to locate the attackers of the security officers, they apprehended two people carrying weapons who were unrelated to this incident.
Regarding the attack, he said two officers were attacked: a man from the Tijuana Municipal Police and his wife, who is a member of the State Investigation Agency (AEI).
Sánchez González commented that the State Secretariat of Citizen Security, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army supported the search for those responsible.
He added that the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) is the agency handling the investigation and will announce progress
