Mexico City, September 4, 2021.- For the next two weeks, no state in the country will be in the red color of the epidemic risk traffic light , according to the Ministry of Health (Ssa), which reported yesterday that in 24 hours 17,409 new cases of Covid-19 and 725 deaths due to the disease were confirmed.
Meanwhile, 17 states will be orange, 13 yellow, and two green , according to the risk traffic light that will be in effect from September 6 to 19.
The states that were classified as orange , indicating high risk for Covid-19, are Sonora, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Colima, Guerrero, Mexico State, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, Querétaro, Veracruz, Tabasco, Campeche, and Yucatán.
Mexico City, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Durango, Coahuila, Zacatecas, Jalisco, Guanajuato, Michoacán, Oaxaca, and Quintana Roo will be classified as yellow, or medium risk.
In its daily technical report on the evolution of the epidemic, the Ssa indicated that 3,405,294 confirmed cases and 262,221 deaths have accumulated since the health crisis began.
He added that there are 108,655 active cases in the country —which began with symptoms in the last 14 days—representing a 14 percent reduction compared to last week.
National hospitalization rates reported a slight decline, with 48 percent of general beds occupied , down one percentage point from the previous day, and 43 percent on ventilators, also down one point.
