Tijuana, September 14.- This Wednesday, the desk once occupied by Kevin Yael González García was empty, as no students attended classes there. This was a show of solidarity with the young man's family and a reminder that a student who graduated from Andrés Quintana Roo Elementary School was murdered.
They placed a candle on the desk and the students set up an altar of the dead in honor of the 14-year-old teenager.“Kevin Yael was my student three years ago. He graduated from here in 2019. Like all my former students, he feels a strong affection for me, and when you hear the news, it's very sad. So, the children and I decided to take the initiative to create an altar of the dead here in his classroom. This is where he practically learned, had fun, and all his dreams were here.”
Ernesto Huizar Quezada, who was his teacher at Andrés Quintana Roo School, said the news shocked the elementary school, as teachers described him as a child who loved sports and had many dreams.
