The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association responded to the Ministry of Communication and Digital's program regarding the provision of affordable internet, including the auction process for the 1.4 GHz frequency band, by highlighting the importance of relaxing regulatory costs.
"If the government truly wants affordability, it must also provide relaxation, and the regulatory costs can be adjusted so that ultimately, public services can be more affordable and of higher quality," said APJII Chairman Muhammad Arif Angga at the 2025 Digital Transformation Summit.
Arif stated that if the main goal of this program is to provide affordable internet services to the public, then the government needs to consider not setting high regulatory fees, including frequency usage rights fees.
