Baja California's anti-corruption prosecutor, Javier Salas, who was one of the injured in the mass car crash that occurred a few days ago in New Orleans, is recovering satisfactorily in a hospital.
Through social media, he thanked both the Mexican and United States governments for their attention.
"There are no words to describe this tragedy. People lost their lives and others were mercilessly injured. I am infinitely grateful to God for this opportunity, to my wife, children, and friends, as well as to the medical staff at University Medical Center New Orleans LCMC Health, the Mexican Consul, Dr. Juan Ramon de la Fuente, Secretary of State, and the U.S. government personnel who were with me at all times," he said.
During the New Year's celebrations, 10 people were killed and 35 injured when a man struck and killed them in the heart of New Orleans, USA. The death toll has been updated to 15.
