Tijuana, February 18.- Bullfighting will soon return to Tijuana, said Manuel Bowser, owner of Nuevo Toreo, who yesterday won the first injunction to resume the event, which was suspended since April 22, 2023.
Attorney Rodolfo Escalante mentioned that they have won the first injunction against the anti-bullfighting associations, since, he asserted, there are no grounds for unconstitutionality that would demonstrate the illegality of bullfighting.
He emphasized that bullfighting is completely legal and has a robust constitutional framework. He also noted that municipal, state, and legislative authorities are not taking any action to ban bullfighting, so only the judiciary could issue a suspension order.
Escalante noted that, within the scope of the injunction, no one can contest it, but they will seek criminal proceedings to sue the anti-bullfighting groups.
