BWF approves changes to the scoring format for the 2025 Suhandinata Cup

The Badminton World Federation has approved a change in the scoring format for the 2025 Suhandinata Cup, or the 2025 World Junior Team Championships, in Guwahati, India, from October 6-10. The system will be a 3x45-point relay system, replacing the 110-point format used in the 2024 edition.

In an official statement from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) on Tuesday, the BWF stated that the new format will also be used in the 2026 Continental Junior Team Championships.

In the 3x45 relay format, a match consists of three sets, with the team that wins two sets being declared the winner. Each set consists of five games, including men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

A game is played to nine points without setting, so the total points in a set reaches 45.

Each team must have a minimum of six players (three boys and three girls) and a maximum of 16 players.
