Canada's U-21 coach appreciates the new format of the U-21 World Championship

Canada's U-21 women's national volleyball team coach, Oliver Faucher, expressed his appreciation for the new format of the 2025 Women's U-21 World Volleyball Championship.

According to Faucher, this new format can provide a lot of matches and decent playing time for young players who really need playing time.

"I like the changes. Especially in age group matches like the U-19 and U-21, having more teams makes it more exciting because we can see different teams play," Faucher told ANTARA in Surabaya on Tuesday.

In this competition, which took place in Surabaya, East Java, the World Volleyball Federation introduced a new tournament format for the first time, with a total of 24 countries participating.

In this latest format, six countries will compete in each group to win a total of four tickets to the knockout stage in a round-robin competition format.
