CAS rejects appeal, Crystal Palace relegated to Conference League

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Monday rejected Crystal Palace's appeal against UEFA's decision to relegate them from the Europa League to the third-tier Conference League.

UEFA's decision to relegate Palace was made because Eagle Football Group, then the majority owner of Olympique Lyonnais, had John Textor, the chairman of the Eagle Football Group, who also held a majority stake in Crystal Palace.

As a result, Nottingham Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, will replace Palace in the Europa League.
