Celtic from the Scottish Premiership and Napoli from the Italian League are competing to sign veteran striker Jamie Vardy in this summer's transfer window.
Sky Sports reported today that Vardy is now a free agent after deciding not to renew his contract with Leicester City at the end of the 2024/2025 season.
Napoli are considering Vardy as a replacement for the injured Romelu Lukaku, but Celtic could be the winners under Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers managed Leicester from 2019 to 2023, which could encourage Vardy to continue his career in Scotland.
Previously, Spanish League club Valencia and Saudi Arabian League club were interested in signing Vardy, but there have been no further developments.
