Central Java Provincial Government: Provincial road repairs are 90 percent complete

The Central Java Provincial Government, through the Public Works, Highways, and Human Settlements Agency, stated that repairs to provincial roads in its region have been completed almost 90 percent.

The Head of the Central Java Public Works, Highways, and Human Settlements Agency, AR Hanung Triyono, noted in Semarang on Thursday that by August 2025, 89.9 percent, or 2,195 kilometers, of the total 2,440 kilometers of provincial roads had been declared satisfactory.

According to him, this achievement is the result of various road repair packages, routine maintenance, rehabilitation, and preservation work spread across all districts/cities.

"Almost 90 percent of our provincial roads are in good condition. In kilometers, they total 2,195 kilometers. Only about 10 percent are currently under construction, much of which involves road preservation," he said.

In the 2025 budget year, 79 work packages were implemented. Of these, the regular package, worth Rp 8.4 billion, was completed first, including the Jepara-Keling and Ngawen-Todanan sections in Blora Regency.

In addition, there is work sourced from unexpected spending funds for bridge repairs with progress of 69 percent.

The road rehabilitation package, spread across eight road works centers (BPJ), includes 50 packages worth IDR 153 billion, with progress of around 60 percent.

Meanwhile, 23 new road preservation packages, valued at Rp 445 billion, were only 15 percent complete in July 2025. Routine maintenance packages at nine BPJs are at 75 percent.
