Tijuana, August 24.- Charlie Watts , the drummer for the English rock band Rolling Stones , died this Tuesday at the age of 80 , in a London hospital. In a brief statement, his spokesperson confirmed that " it is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully in a London hospital, surrounded by his family ." Without specifying the cause of death, she emphasized that " Charly was a beloved husband, father and grandfather ," and highlighted that as a member of the Rolling Stones he is " one of the best drummers of his generation ." The band, led by Mike Jagger, posted a photo of the deceased drummer on its website, in which he appears relaxed, smiling at the camera, arms crossed, and dressed in a suit and tie. The bulletin issued by the 1960s rock band requests that "the privacy of their family, band members and close friends be respected at this difficult time ."
