Tijuana, June 10. Tijuana Municipal Inspection and Verification personnel are maintaining nighttime operations to ensure that bars, restaurants, pool halls, and entertainment venues do not allow minors to enter and to prevent the consumption of alcohol.
The director of the agency, José Antonio Olivas Heredia, reported that during the most recent weekend—from Friday, June 6 to Sunday, June 8—80 establishments were inspected to determine whether they comply with the rules and regulations established to protect minors.
In a press release, the municipal official stated that inspectors reviewed the documentation and age control procedures at each establishment.
He stated that, in accordance with the instructions of Mayor Ismael Burgueño, the priority is "to ensure that entertainment establishments comply with rules and regulations, and that minors are protected from any risk or situation that could endanger their safety."
