Talented young Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri is reportedly close to joining Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan.
Leverkusen have reached an agreement with Manchester City to take Echeverri on a one-year loan without an option to buy.
According to a report by The Athletic on Wednesday, Leverkusen will pay a loan fee to Manchester City, and will cover the player's wages.
The deal is understood to not include a buyout clause, as Manchester City still view Echeverri as part of their long-term plans at the Etihad Stadium.
Sky Germany reports that Leverkusen beat Borussia Dortmund to the signing of Echeverri.
Dortmund had previously made a loan offer with an option to buy, but Manchester City rejected this clause.
The 19-year-old has reached a personal agreement with Leverkusen, and a medical is due to take place soon.
