Mexicali, May 22. After an intense debate , Morena and its allies in the Baja California Congress rejected the request by the National Action Party (PAN) and Citizen Movement (MC) to urge Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda to make public the documentation addressing the revocation of her U.S. visa.
Local deputies Daylín García Ruvalcaba (MC) and Mayola Gaona (PAN) read the proposal to request the plenary session's approval of the request.
As a first point, they requested that the state leader make public and deliver to the local congress the document by which she was notified of the revocation of her visa.
The second point sought to show the request that he supposedly sent to the State Department to clarify the reason for the visa cancellation .
In addition, they requested an update of Avila Olmeda's asset declaration .
The coordinator of the Morena faction, Juan Manuel Molina, considered that this is all speculation and insinuation by the opposition and that the United States government will report what happened in due time.
Diego Echevarría, coordinator of the PAN faction in the Legislative Branch, assured that the appeal would be made respectfully, without accusing the governor of any wrongdoing.
In response, Congress President Michelle Tejeda (Morena) said the PAN members are "hypocrites" because for days they have been holding press conferences, speaking "pure assumptions" about the revocation of the governor's visa.
