Mexicali, August 6.- A group of council members led by Sergio Tamai García and Arnoldo Douglas interrupted and confronted the mayor of Mexicali, Guadalupe Mora Quiñónez, while she was broadcasting live every Friday on social media.
Mora Quiñonez was giving a speech about the government actions carried out by the Mexicali city council, but was interrupted by council members José Ramón López Hernández, Cleotilde Molina, Sergio Tamai and Arnoldo Douglas , who asked the mayor to hold an extraordinary session so that the council could issue an opinion regarding the municipalization of water .
"There's no heart and no will, mayor. There's a ruling, and she's lying. Are you interested in the citizens, more than just the 50 people who are going to hand out food supplies right now?" the council member from the Citizens' Movement complained.
"How is it possible that Mayor (inaudible) is running away? Show us your face so we can call a session, Mayor," Tamai said, amidst complaints.
