Matamoros, May 14. The city of Matamoros, Tamaulipas, woke up to blockades, chases, and the seizure of public transportation vehicles.
The Tamaulipas Public Security spokesperson reported that the State Guard cleared roads such as Marte R. Gómez Avenue, Doce de Marzo, and the access to Ciudad Industrial at approximately 8:00 a.m.
Starting at 7 a.m., criminal groups hijacked public transport trucks and used them to block a dozen arteries to hinder the authorities' progress.
Tire-punctured vehicles were thrown onto the asphalt , damaging the tires of dozens of vehicles while parents were dropping their children off at school.
At least a dozen schools suspended activities in the morning shift.
The State Guard was in charge of clearing roads, but no arrests were reported.
