Despite the numbers, death, and hunger, 47% of Israelis deny famine in Gaza.

According to the results of the poll, published Friday, 47 percent of participants said they did not believe there was starvation in Gaza, while 41 percent spoke of a humanitarian crisis. Of these, 23 percent expressed concern, 18 percent said they did not care, and 12 percent responded that they did not know.

This denial comes at a time when the Gaza Strip is experiencing one of the most devastating humanitarian disasters, with widespread famine intersecting with a genocidal war waged by Israel since October 7, 2023. Since March 2, 2025, Israel has closed all crossings with the Strip and prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, accelerating the spread of famine.

On another note, the survey revealed growing concern within Israel about the rise of so-called "anti-Semitism." Sixty-one percent of respondents said they feared being attacked if they traveled to European countries, compared to 31 percent who did not share this concern, and 8 percent who were undecided.

Politically, the poll indicated a decline in the popularity of the ruling coalition led by Benjamin Netanyahu, with the opposition predicted to win 66 Knesset seats, compared to only 44 for the coalition, if elections were held today. These results indicate a continued decline, as last week's poll gave the opposition 61 seats, compared to 49 for the coalition.

The poll included 511 people and was conducted on July 30 and 31, with a margin of error of 4.4 percent.

The current government's term ends late next year, with no indications of early elections. Netanyahu clings to power and rejects growing calls to go to the polls, despite the ongoing war crimes being committed in Gaza.

The ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of more than 207,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women. More than 9,000 others have gone missing, hundreds of thousands have been displaced, and a famine has claimed many lives, amid global silence.
